UX professionals have access to a range of design methods but how do they ensure such methods are inclusive? In this webinar, David Swallow, an Accessibility Engineer at TPGi, will explore how to include people with disabilities in user-centered design. Drawing on academic research as well as real-world experiences, David will examine different approaches for ensuring people with disabilities are at the heart of your design process. This 60-minute webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Using and getting the most from user-centered design methods
  • Understanding the benefits and limitations of user-centered design methods
  • Exploring persona creation techniques and in what situations to use them
  • Representing people with disabilities in the design process
  • Creating your own inclusive personas

Bio:
David Swallow is an Accessibility Engineer at TPGi. He joined the company in September 2016, and prior to that, he was an academic researcher in Human Computer Interaction at the University of York in the UK, where he specialized in designing, developing, and evaluating usable and accessible interfaces. There he gained a PhD in Computer Science, investigating how to integrate accessible web development practices into the existing workflows of professional web developers.
