Accessibility gap analysis

An accessibility gap analysis is the effective way to identify areas of vulnerability. It is a high level evaluation of your website, web application or native app against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Section 508 or other recognized standards. You will receive:

  • A report outlining any areas of accessibility vulnerability
  • A practical roadmap of services for closing the gaps

Accessibility audit

An accessibility audit is the best way to gain a thorough understanding of the accessibility level of your website, web application or native app. It is a comprehensive analysis of a representative sample of screens/pages against WCAG 2.0, Section 508 or other recognized accessibility standards. You will receive:

  • A results matrix noting issues for each page or screen
  • A user friendly report describing the impact on accessible user experience and straightforward solutions for every issue

In addition, we offer the following complementary services that can be delivered after your accessibility audit.

VPAT® production

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template® (VPAT®) documents the accessibility of a product and its supporting resources, based on the requirements of Section 508 or WCAG 2.0. It is a formal template that is provided by a product vendor and made available to potential customers.

Implementation support

Implementation support is the ideal way to accelerate your next steps after an accessibility audit. One of our dedicated Accessibility Engineers will provide a practical blend of technical support, best practice consultancy and assistance to your development team in prioritizing and implementing the accessibility solutions recommended in your accessibility audit.


A retest is an efficient way to confirm the success of the accessibility enhancements you’ve made based on our recommendations. It is a re-evaluation of your website, web application or native app against the outcomes of your accessibility audit.

We will use the same representative sample of screens/pages from your accessibility audit, and assess them against each of the solutions recommended in your accessibility audit report.

PDF remediation

PDF remediation is an excellent way to ensure your PDF documents are accessible. We will take your existing PDF documents and repair/re-tag them to make them accessible and to bring them in-line with WCAG 2.0, Section 508 or other recognized accessibility standards.

Design review

Design reviews are a way to identify accessibility issues in the conceptual phases of product development, before your website, web application or native app is fully developed. It is a review of requirements, wireframes, prototypes, or style guides for potential accessibility issues. It is also an opportunity to explore alternative approaches that would provide a better, more accessible user experience.

After reviewing your concepts we provide an annotated version, calling out potential areas of concern. We also recommend accessibility features to consider during the building stage. Design reviews are an excellent way to consider accessibility throughout the development lifecycle.

User research

User research is a way to learn first-hand about the needs and expectations of people with disabilities in using your website, web application or native app. It provides invaluable insights you can use to guide development toward providing a richer experience for all users. By providing an accessible user experience, you increase your market opportunity and the satisfaction of your customers.

We will conduct activities such as contextual inquiry interviews and field studies with people in your target audience who have disabilities. We will use inquiry and observation to glean relevant insights and produce a report that you can use to ensure accessibility features are part of your development effort.

Usability testing

Usability testing is an opportunity to discover how people with disabilities and people who use assistive technologies engage with your brand. It is an evaluation of your website, web application or native app based on the experiences it provides people with disabilities.

We will identify a representative sample of people with disabilities within your target audience and invite them to complete different key tasks. We will carefully select tasks that represent important user journeys and will ensure the test participants include people who have visual, hearing, physical and cognitive disabilities, to give you a deep understanding of their experience.

You will receive a user friendly report highlighting any issues encountered, and providing straightforward solutions for removing those accessibility barriers.


Training is an effective way to embed accessibility knowledge within your team. It can be delivered online or in person, and can cover a wide range of topics including:

  • Introduction to accessibility
  • Accessible HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ARIA
  • Designing Accessible User Experiences
  • Accessibility for Project Managers
  • Accessibility policy and governance
  • Accessibility testing strategy and execution

We will identify your training requirements and the learning outcomes for your team, and then deliver a course specifically tailored to achieve your goals. Our Accessibility Engineers and Accessible User Experience consultants are regularly invited to speak at international conferences, so your training will be delivered by people respected throughout the industry for their knowledge and experience.

Help desk

Our help desk provides ongoing accessibility support for your team. It is a SharePoint-style, ticket-based system that makes it easy for your team to ask questions and seek advice following any of our other services.

For a 30 day period you can have unlimited users ask unlimited questions, and we will respond with practical help and advice. Help desk requests can cover a wide range of topics including help with proposed accessibility solutions, code examples and prototype solutions, accessible UX design guidance, or general accessibility consultancy.

Strategic consulting

Strategic consulting addresses your specific accessibility needs. It can be used to research accessibility concerns, identify global obligations and opportunities for accessibility, provide professional evaluations to support a legal case, create a strategy to bring accessibility into your organization, and myriad other possibilities.
