Assistive Technology Navigation Support for ARIA User Input controls.
An aspect of Assistive Technology support for ARIA User Input controls is their inclusion in control lists and in form controls related navigation commands that are available to users in the 'Virtual' modes used by JAWS, Window Eyes and NVDA.
JAWS commands
- List of Form Fields = INSERT + F5
- Move To Next Form Field = F
- Move To Prior Form Field = SHIFT + F
NVDA commands
Navigate by form control = F
Window Eyes commands
- List controls = INS + TAB
- Next Control = C
- Previous Control = SHIFT + C
Form control lists
Bothe JAWS and Window Eyes provide a list form controls feature. The ARIA User Input controls that are listed in these dialogs are the same as those supported by the the respective keyboard navigation commands detailed in Table 1.

Notes
- JAWS 9 and 10 change in Virtual PC cursdor mode.
- Jaws 10: Turn off 'auto forms mode' by unchecking it in Configuration Manager > Set Options > Forms Mode Options.
- Window eyes browse mode (ctr+shift+A to toggle browse mode on/off).
- NVDA disable Virtual buffer pass through (NVDA key + spacebar)
- For all Assistive software use the default verbosity settings
- Use the keyboard commands to navigate to each control.
- A YES means the control is navigated to and the Name, Role and State(if applicable) are correctly announced. A NO means, the control cannot be navigated to using the navigation commands.
- Note: For the 'radio group' a YES means that each of the controls within the radio group were able to be navigated to.
