Overview
Web teams may include content authors, developers and Q/A testers. TPG can provide individual courses for each of these user groups but we also have standard course types that can provide all the necessary knowledge and skills to the full team in once class.
Design
TPG design the course to suit the audience based on existing course material. Items we can customize include:
- Compliance standards in use.
- Testing tools available or in use.
- Constraints or technical requirements in the content management system or development environment.
Training Features
Courses are organised around accessibility topics such as 'alternate text descriptions', 'keyboard accessibility' etc. Each topic is covered in detail but most time is left for attendees to test each accessibility use case with testing tools and assistive technologies. As they carry out these tests, the instructors monitor and assist. Developers gain a detailed knowledge of accessibility issues as well as experience with assistive technologies. Q/A teams learn the testing process and content authors learn the challenges faced by people with disabilities on web sites. In our experience this provides the best balance of content for a mixed audience.
